Terms of Service
Last updated: November 6, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Itmina mobile app and its related services (the “App”), provided by Blocship (“we,” “us”).
1. Acceptance
By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What Itmina is (and is not)
Itmina is a free companion for reading the Quran by how you feel, with a journal, a tasbih counter, adhkar and duas, prayer times, the Qibla direction, the Azan and reminders. It is a tool for personal reflection and worship. It is not a source of religious rulings (fatwa), and it is not a medical or mental-health service.
3. Quran text, translations & tafsir
The Arabic text of the Quran, its translations, tafsir and recitations are provided by the Quran Foundation (Quran.com) and their respective translators, scholars and reciters. Translations and tafsir are human efforts to convey the meaning of the Quran and are not the Quran itself. The pairing of ayahs with moods is a gentle suggestion for reflection, not an interpretation of the ayahs. For questions of religious practice, consult a qualified scholar.
4. Prayer times, Qibla & the Azan
Prayer times are calculated on your phone from your approximate location and the calculation method and Asr school you choose. They are estimates and can differ by a few minutes from your local mosque or official timetable, especially at high latitudes. The Qibla direction depends on your location and your phone’s compass, which can be affected by metal and magnets nearby. Please confirm times and direction locally when it matters.
The Azan, prayer reminders and the daily ayah are scheduled on your phone. Their delivery depends on your phone’s settings, battery optimisation, sound mode and the permissions you grant, so we cannot guarantee that every notification arrives or sounds on time. Do not rely on the App as your only reminder for prayer.
5. Not a substitute for care
Itmina offers comfort and reflection through the Quran, but it is not therapy, counselling or medical advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services straight away.
6. Your journal & data
What you write and record in the App belongs to you and stays on your phone, as described in the Privacy Policy. Because we do not keep a copy, we cannot recover it if your phone is lost, reset or the App is uninstalled, unless your phone’s own backup has saved it. You are responsible for your device and its backups.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App or its content in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others;
- scrape, copy or redistribute the App’s content or our server’s responses in bulk, or use our server for anything other than the App;
- attempt to overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the App or our server;
- reverse engineer the App except where the law expressly allows it.
8. Content & credits
Quran content is provided by the Quran Foundation (Quran.com). Adhkar are from Hisn al-Muslim by Sa’id al-Qahtani. The Azan is recited by Aaqib Azeez and used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence (via Wikimedia Commons), shortened to its opening Takbir. These remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their terms. The App’s design, code, illustrations and branding belong to Blocship.
9. Availability & changes
The App is free. We may add, change or remove features or content, and parts of the App that need our server may occasionally be unavailable. Features that work on your phone, such as your journal, tasbih and prayer times, keep working without a connection.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may stop providing the App or restrict access to our server for anyone who breaks these Terms.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, including the accuracy of prayer times, the Qibla direction, or the delivery of notifications.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blocship will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App (if any) or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Nothing in them limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence, and you may be entitled to bring a claim in your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
