1. Acceptance

These Terms govern your use of the Veil mobile app and related services (the “App”), provided by Blocship (“we,” “us”). By using the App you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What Veil is (and is not)

Veil is a record-keeping and reminder tool for groups who give to a cause together. Members confirm in a group chat that they have given, under an assigned alias.

  • Veil does not collect, hold, transfer or process money of any kind.
  • Veil is not a charity, fundraising platform or payment service.
  • Veil does not verify that any donation was made, or to whom.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App, and you must be able to form a binding agreement or have a parent or guardian agree on your behalf.

4. Your account

The App creates an anonymous account for you automatically. You may connect a Google account to restore your groups on another device. If you uninstall the App without connecting Google, your account cannot be recovered. You are responsible for activity on your device and account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete my account.

5. Groups and admins

The person who creates a group is its admin. Admins can change the group’s details and schedule, reset its invite link, hide posts, review reports, remove members and hand the group to another member. Admins must use these tools fairly and in line with these Terms. Anyone with a group’s invite link or code can join it, so share invites with care.

6. Your content

You own the messages and images you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and display that content to the members of the group you post it in, solely to operate the App. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law.

You are responsible for what you post. Before posting a payment screenshot, use the App’s blur and black-out tools to hide account numbers, names and anything else you do not want others to see.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

  • post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual or violent;
  • share someone else’s personal or financial information without their consent;
  • try to find out who is behind an alias, or reveal anyone’s identity;
  • spam, scam, solicit money, or misrepresent a cause or a donation;
  • impersonate anyone, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property;
  • interfere with the App or its servers, access them by automated means, or attempt to bypass security or rate limits.

8. Reporting, blocking & removal

You can report any post and block any member. Reports go to the group’s admin, who does not see who filed them. We may also review reported or otherwise objectionable content and remove it, and suspend or delete accounts that break these Terms, with or without notice. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

9. Donations are your responsibility

Any donation you make happens outside the App, between you and the recipient. We are not responsible for the choice of cause, the amount, whether a donation is made, or how a recipient uses it. Information posted by members is not verified by us.

10. Availability & changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the App at any time. Reminders are scheduled on your device and may be delayed or not delivered (for example if your phone is off or restricts background activity); do not rely on them as your only reminder.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive it.

12. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blocship is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill or donations, arising from your use of the App. The App is free; our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App (if any) or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Nothing in them limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence, and you may be entitled to bring a claim in your local courts.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the App. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
